Your BBL Fundraising Toolkit

$500 can keep the lights on at home for a family experiencing a 60 day pediatric hospital admission.  Here’s a simple path to get there:

1. Self-donation of $25, then ask...
2. 3 family members $50 each 
3. 5 friends $25 each 
4. 5 co-workers $20 each 
5. Share on social media to raise the last $100
6. $500 Goal Reached!

1. Set a Goal. Start with a goal you feel is achievable, like $500 (the cost to keep a family's lights on at home  during a 60 day hospital stay). You can always raise it later. Donors are highly motivated when they see you're close to your goal.
2. Make it Personal. This is the most important tip. Tell your story. Why does Big Beautiful Life's mission matter to you? A personal "why" is the #1 reason people will donate. Upload a good photo of yourself!
3. Make the First Gift. Be the first to donate to your own page. Even a small amount shows you are personally invested and gets the momentum started.

1. Draft a List. Before you post, think of 10-15 people you can count on—close friends, family, neighbors, and key coworkers.
2. Email First, Post Second. Email drives more donations than social media. Send personal emails to your core list first. After you have a few "seed" donations, start posting on social media.
3. The "Turn-it-Around." Remember all the times friends and family have asked you to support their fundraisers or buy cookies from their kids? Now is the perfect time to gently "turn it around" and ask for their support!
4. Ask, and Ask Again. People are busy and often need a few reminders. Don't be shy! Send updates on your progress and make the ask more than once.

1. Post Updates Often. Don't just ask. Share your progress! "Wow, we're halfway to our goal!" or "We just raised enough to fund a children's workshop!"
2. Thank Donors Publicly. When someone donates, thank them in an email. If you're comfortable, tag them in a "thank you" post on social media (e.g., "A huge thank you to [@friend] for their generous gift!"). This shows appreciation and encourages others.
3. Use Deadlines. As your fundraiser nears its end, create urgency. "It's the last day!" or "Only $100 to go to hit my goal!"

I'm reaching out to you today to ask for your support for a cause that means a lot to me: Big Beautiful Life.

As you may know, BBL is a non-profit dedicated to supporting families [Insert your personal "why" or BBL's mission, e.g., "Bringing comfort & joy to children in chronic medical crisis and partnering with those who rally around them"]. They do incredible, personal work in our community, and I've been so moved by their mission.

To help them out, I've set up a personal fundraising page with a goal of raising [Your Goal Amount].
